Barak Valley Cements Limited was assimilated as a Public Limited Company in 1999, under the Companies Act, 1956.

The Company was stimulated by Mr. Prahlad Rai Chamaria, Mr. Bijay Kumar Garodia along with Mr. Santosh Kumar Bajaj.

Cement Business:

Presently the Company is involved in the business of manufacturing of cement of diverse grades and is marketing its product under the product name "Valley Strong Cement". The company began its commercial production in April 2001. Primarily the company started its commercial production at the volume of the plant at 300 TPD, afterwards company undertook several expansion as well as modernization plans from time to time which augmented the installed capacity to 600 TPD of clinker plus 750 TPD of cement. The technology which is used in manufacturing its product is Dry Process Rotary Kiln Technology through 4 stage Suspension Pre Heater technology.

Expansion:

The company is situated in Assam and all its operations of the company are focussed in the North Eastern region. Its manufacturing unit is at Jhoom Basti, Devendranagar, Badarpurghat, District Karimganj, Assam.

Product Portfolio:

The product portfolio comprises both Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) as well as Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC). The company is ISO 9001: 2008 certified company and its products sanction to BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) stipulations.

The company as well got listed on the National Stock Exchange along with Bombay Stock Exchange in November, 2007.
